## Content Licensing for AI Agents

This publication supports machine-readable content licensing via the **x402 protocol** (HTTP 402 Payment Required). There are two distinct licensing paths for AI agents:

### Path A — Programmatic Reading Access (x402)

For AI assistants and agents that need to fetch article content in real-time to answer user queries.

**Network**: Base (chain ID: 8453)
**Payment Asset**: USDC (`0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913`)
**Facilitator**: https://api.cdp.coinbase.com/platform/v2/x402
**Price**: 0.02 USDC per article
**Receipt**: Receipt NFT minted on Numbers Protocol as on-chain proof of access

#### Access Flow

1. `GET /functions/v1/x402Article/list` — discover available articles with metadata and pricing
2. `GET /functions/v1/x402Article?articleId={id}` — receive HTTP 402 with `X-Payment-Required` header
3. Parse `X-Payment-Required` (Base64-encoded PaymentRequirements JSON)
4. Sign EIP-3009 `TransferWithAuthorization` for the USDC amount via x402 Facilitator
5. Retry request with `X-Payment` header (Base64-encoded payment payload)
6. Receive HTTP 200 with full article content + Receipt NFT info + license certificate URL

### Path B — AI Training / TDM License

For AI companies and research institutions that want to use articles as training data.

**Standard**: TDM-1.0 (machine-readable license)

**Receipt**: TDM License Certificate (JSON + HTML format) + License NFT
